Possible applicable Sections for shredding of Vet Records

As a followup on the shredding of veterans records by the VA, this might be of interest:

Section 2071(b) of title 18, United States Code, provides for criminal penalties and loss of public office for anyone who “willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys” Government records in his or her custody. Section 2071(a) contains a general prohibition on willful and unlawful concealment, removal, mutilation, obliteration, or destruction of Government records.
